As the lead singer of celebrated rock band Incubus with a new album in the works, several published books and a successful career as a visual artist, you might think Brandon Boyd’s artistic palette is full to the brim. Yet, somehow the busy L.A. native has found time to create a new jewelry collection with his friend Ali Grace, a Newport Beach-born jewelry designer currently residing in New York.
Perhaps more surprising than finding the time for a new artistic endeavor is that Boyd admittedly doesn’t wear jewelry much himself—at least, until now. “Truth be told, I don’t actually wear that much jewelry. I have, like, two rings and some random necklaces that I sometimes wear—but mostly not,” says Boyd. “One of the successes of this collection we did together was that Ali kept asking me, ‘Would you wear this?’ and I couldn’t wait to put this stuff on. And I’m obviously kind of biased because I’m a co-creator, but we took deliberate steps to make things understated.”
