On June 26th The Original Farmers Market at Third & Fairfax, The Grove and Outfest will partner to present the second annual Pride Celebration featuring the sensational music of the iconic band ABBA with a live performance and a special outdoor film screening. There is no admission charge for the event and it is open to the public. The evening is a part of the city’s ongoing Pride Month festivities.
The celebration begins at 6:30pm, when guests can groove to the sounds of Swedish Europop courtesy of the lively ABBA tribute band, AbbaFab, on the Farmers Market Plaza. Then, stroll on over to Gilmore Lane to enjoy a sunset screening of the hit musical comedy, Mamma Mia! (rated PG-13) starting at 8:00pm. The musical is set on a vibrant Greek island and follows a bride-to-be trying to find her real father, with a story told through the signature songs of ABBA. The sequel to the 2008 film, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, is set to hit theaters this July.
Guests who RSVP for the event via bit.ly/2JAq6JI will receive a free gift courtesy of Kiehl’s at Farmers Market. The skincare brand will also have a photo booth on site during the evening.
The Pride Celebration precedes the venerable 36th Annual Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ film festival, presented by HBO. Hosted by Outfest, the LA-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen, the 2018 festival will take place across the city from July 12 – 22, 2018.
