You don’t want to miss this event!
From 12pm to 4pm, the chefs will serve dishes from stations set up throughout the lounge and lush garden patio. Michael’s beverage director Gabriel Pérez and former wine director Roni Ginach (Roni Selects) will offer wine pairings to complement each dish.
The Michael’s kitchen team, led by chefs Jeff Lustre (Alimento, Palena DC) and Matthew Wilson (Augustine Wine Bar, Sqirl), will serve additional passed bites that highlight the restaurant’s culinary ethos under the guidance of Michael and son/co-owner Chas McCarty. The collaboration showcases Michael’s long history as an incubator for rising talent while mirroring the relationship of the opening team in 1979 when Michael guided his team of chefs including Jonathan Waxman, Mark Peel, Ken Frank, Billy Pflug, and James Brinkley to construct the vision for the menu at Michael’s, an early pioneer of California cuisine.
Long revered for its museum-caliber collection of art curated by McCarty and his wife & artist Kim McCarty, guests will also be able to view original works and prints by artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, Ed Ruscha, David Hockney and Analia Saban throughout the afternoon, as well as their quarterly exhibition of featured artists in The Gallery @ Michael’s located in their upstairs private event space.
A campaign of Share our Strength, No Kid Hungry honored Michael and Kim McCarty last fall as No Kid Hungry Heroes for their tireless advocacy for ending child hunger.
