Last week was all about wellness and self-care mixed in with a little sustainability.
The Henry on Robertson Plaza in West Hollywood was the site of a delicious al fresco breakfast hosted by Jessie De Lowe and Tara Sowlaty to celebrate the pre-fall fashions of favorite on-line dress brand Tucker in New York, and to also discuss female empowerment and sustainability. The panel included Sophie Monet, Hayley Boyd, Sheena Yaitanes, Meredith Baird and Jenn Krouse with topics that ranged from drinking lemon water in the morning to dry brushing before a shower, watching Friends in the evening to chill and sometimes just saying ‘yes’ to that cheeseburger and not feeling guilty. After the lattes, yogurt-granola bowls and the odd breakfast burrito with egg whites were consumed, the crowd was able to mingle and peruse the frocks on display in vibrant colors and floral patterns. www.tuckernyc.com
Over in Beverly Hills, the BOLD event was about to kick-off which embraces longer summer nights and stores staying open later throughout August, but before that, the first ever Wellness Month launched on our beloved Secret Rose Garden at the Beverly Wilshire just off Rodeo. The small but action-packed feast for the senses included new products from beloved brands such as sun-block gurus COOLA and Kerstin Florian’s new ‘eye rescue’, along with demos from Intraceuticals, Katherine Cosmetics, Silx luxury hair sparkles and 24k ear seeds from Vie Healing. New brands we spotted were bath salts from Laki Naturals, Freedom Brands natural hygiene, Julie Lindh Skin Experts and Lucky Owls affirmation rings. The guests nibbled on mini-quiches and fruit while sipping rosé and using the rose quartz facial rollers to beat the heat.
