When Lauren Hogarth, 30, and Alexandra Morton, 35, signed the lease on their new venture in May 2016, there was no turning back. With backgrounds in film production and graphic design, respectively, they have the kind of complementary skills you’d want when launching a passion project with your partner in both life and business.
The decision was born out of a conversation while sitting on their West Hollywood apartment stoop. “What would we be doing if we weren’t doing the jobs we worked so hard to get now?” they asked one another. The answer was simple: open a coffee shop.
“We both really loved coffee,” says Lauren. “Alex put herself through grad school as a barista; I grew up in a shop. Who doesn’t want to be part of someone’s morning? We’re giving them what they want: Everyone wants coffee,” she proffers.
