The Church Key is an eclectic restaurant on Sunset Plaza Drive that was formed by a very powerful trio: Executive Chef Steven Fretz, formerly of SBE’s XIV and The Bazaar by José Andrés; manager Joseph Sabato of The Bazaar and Sona; and mixologist Devon Espinosa from Pour Vous and Ink. These three are behind one of the most talked-about venues in West Hollywood since opening a year ago — even catching the attention of the Bravo Network show Best New Restaurant.
The Church Key will be one of three L.A. eateries competing — along with Union in Pasadena and Doma in Beverly Hills — for the title. The show begins airing in January 2015 and features eateries in 16 cities across the country hand-picked by Bon Appetit magazine and award-winning restaurateur Tom Colicchio of Craft and host of Top Chef.
