LA’s new favorite taco spot, with some of the best grilled items and flour tortillas in town, Salazar, in Frogtown, is expanding their menu to include oysters, shucked fresh and served every Sunday from 4 pm until close. Diners can enjoy oysters from catering duo and Hollywood Famer’s Market favorite, Oyster Boys, who will bring a rotating selection to the restaurant, including Nautilus from Baja and Mirada from Hood Canal, WA.
Then, one Sunday every month, comedian Brion Brionson will be hosting his podcast “Shucking with Brion,” where guests will join him for some shucking and chit chat. This is a great way to spend a Sunday on their ample patio with a cocktail or two in hand.
The oyster selection will rotate depending on what’s available and interesting. Diners can expect to enjoy an assortment including:
Nautilus
Baja, Mexico
Mirada
Hood Canal, WA
Minter Sweet
Gig Harbor, WA
Bahia Falsa
False Bay, Bay

ABOUT SALAZAR: Salazar, the most anticipated restaurant of the summer, is bringing elevated Mexican mesquite grilled dishes to Frogtown, nestled between Griffith Park and the LA River. Co-Owner & Chef Esdras Ochoa, who grew to cult acclaim via his taco concept Mexicali, launched Salazar to highlight true Sonoran-style BBQ. Beverage Director Aaron Melendrez is helming the bar program, featuring inventive cocktails, with dynamic Mexican flavors, including a boozy horchata, as well as limited run beers from local LA breweries. Ochoa and Melendrez have used their Chicano backgrounds and upbringing to create a menu that is ambitious yet approachable.
