“Cúrate” An Evening At Lucques With Chef Katie Button On Sunday, October 23

Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne Welcome Katie Button for a Special “Sunday Supper” Inspired by the Author’s New Cookbook, CÚRATE.

WHAT: LUCQUES, the flagship restaurant owned by Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne, hosts the first of their Bookfest dinners for fall.On Sunday, October 23, 2016, this special Sunday Supper showcases dishes from CÚRATE, the new cookbook by Chef/Author Katie Button with Genevieve Ko, just published by Flatiron Books. Lucques’ yearly Bookfest is the city’s standout culinary event for visiting authors and chefs presenting their work and meeting the Los Angeles public. This will be Katie Button’s exclusive Los Angeles appearance.

The CÚRATE Cookbook Sunday Supper celebrates the traditional Spanish cuisine found at Katie Button’s Asheville, North Carolina tapas bar. The four course dinner begins with Watermelon Tomato Salad with Goat Cheese and Corn Nuts; followed by Squid Ink Pasta. For the main course, guests will enjoy Lamb Chops with Black Olive and Rosemary Crumble; Wilted Spinach with Pine Nuts, Raisins, Apple; and Olive Oil Potato Purée. Dessert completes the dinner with Tarta De Santiago –Almond Cake with Cream Sherry, Brandy, Lemon and Thyme Ice Cream.

The CÚRATE Cookbook Sunday Supper menu is priced at $75 per person plus beverages, tax and gratuities. Lucques will offer optional wine pairings from specialty producers selected by Caroline Styne and cocktails by Head Barman Christiaan Röllich.

Chef Katie Button, who has received national recognition and awards as a “Rising Star,” will be present throughout the evening to meet guests and sign books. The book will be available for purchase at LUCQUES during the evening and are sold separately at $35.00 each. ABOUT KATIE BUTTON AND CÚRATE:
Chef Katie Button is a Southern chef with a scientific mind who honed her craft in the kitchens of some of the world’s best chefs, most notably Ferran Adria and Jose Andres. She is now the executive chef and co-owner of Cúrate and Nightbell in Asheville, North Carolina, which have earned world-wide recognition and accolades and Button a James Beard nomination and place among Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs in 2015. Her first cookbook, Cúrate: Authentic Spanish Food from an American Kitchen, offers recipes for home cooks that celebrate her love of Spain and Southern heritage.
