Inspired by the grand homes in Mayfair, onefinestay was launched in London by CEO Evan Frank in 2010. “For us, it was the quiet streets of Mayfair after dark that led to the buzzy hotels there. That contrast is what inspired us. We thought, how do we let people stay in these beautiful homes and make it as easy as booking one of the hotels?”
As an ex-pat living in London at the time, Frank decided to make the switch from e-commerce and technology to the luxury hospitality business. “We certainly felt the time had come, and while it is a hospitality company, it also touches a lot of things like technology, real estate, logistics and operations,” he says. The potential of the idea and product experience drove the business idea. “I have two kids, and I used to travel all over Europe for business when I lived in London and always enjoyed discovering the cool boutique hotels at the time. We love the hotel experience and traveling, and this experience inspired OFS.” Being able to unlock these types of accommodations into an entirely new type of experience led to Frank’s mantra of “creating the ultimate expression of what a boutique hotel can be.”
