City of West Hollywood’s PickUp Says ‘Sunday Funday 4EVR’ as it Begins Year-Round Service on Sundays

By West Hollywood Lifestyle

Every Sunday will be Funday in West Hollywood

The PickUp Declares Endless Summer — Sunday Service will Now Run Year-Round on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Every Sunday will be Funday in the City of West Hollywood. The PickUp will now celebrate summer all year with extended, year-round “Sunday Funday” service. Beginning on Sunday, October 2, 2016, riders will be able to hook-up with The PickUp on Sundays from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. at any one of its regular stops along Santa Monica Boulevard. “Nighttime Ride” service will continue its regular schedule on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.

“PickUp your Sundays. Every week. All year round,” said City of West Hollywood Councilmember John D’Amico. “Sunday Funday for everyone.”

“The PickUp is another example of West Hollywood creativity and innovation,” said Councilmember John J. Duran. “It’s not mass transit. It’s an experience to be on the nighttime party bus with music and fun people! And it’s free! And no worries about drunk driving, parking, or Uber. It’s another way to get around town hassle-free — WeHo Style!”

In addition to its extended regular schedule, The PickUp will continue to offer special service on certain holidays, including Halloween. On Monday, October 31, 2016 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., The PickUp will provide special service for the City of West Hollywood’s Halloween Carnaval — it will shuttle ghosts and ghouls, pirates and princesses, and other Halloween revelers to and from the festivities. Route information will be posted at www.wehopickup.com prior to the event.

The PickUp is a fun and flirtatious way to reach a destination in the City of West Hollywood; it’s a cool and convenient alternative to driving, and it’s free. The PickUp runs along Santa Monica Boulevard in a four-mile loop with 15 stops in each direction between Robertson Boulevard and La Brea Avenue. The PickUp arrives at stops every 15 minutes and features beat mixes by Derek Monteiro. Riders of The PickUp can also pick up a perk card that provides discounts and other perks from participating businesses when they hop on for a ride, which makes the switch from car to trolley well worth it. The PickUp helps to curb drunk driving, eases parking, and reduces traffic congestion.

Visit The PickUp online, and follow its Trolley Tracker for real-time arrival and location information, at www.wehopickup.com.
