City of West Hollywood’s Halloween Carnaval 2015 willHonor The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s Tim Curry And Feature an Appearance by Pop Icon Boy George
Each year, the City of West Hollywood hosts its unrivaled Halloween Carnaval. The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard. Children and pets are discouraged from attending because of dense crowds.
The City of West Hollywood is thrilled to announce that Boy George will make an appearance at the San Vicente Stage, located at the intersection of Santa Monica and San Vicente Boulevards. Boy George is universally recognized as one of the music scene’s most iconic artists. For the past 30 years, he has maintained a strong position at the forefront of the music industry. To date, Boy George has sold more than 100 million singles and in excess of 50 million albums as a performer and songwriter with ’80s super group Culture Club and as a solo artist. He is also one of the world’s most successful and in-demand international DJs touring extensively across the globe.
San Vicente Stage, Rocky Horror Celebration, will feature festivities for the 40th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. First released in 1975, this musical comedy horror film has become an international cult classic film and is the longest-running theatrical release in film history. West Hollywood Mayor Lindsey P. Horvath and members of the West Hollywood City Council will welcome Rocky Horror Picture Show icon Tim Curry, who will be named the City’s Honorary Mayor. The ceremony will take place at 8:45 p.m. Sal Piro, longtime president of the Rocky Horror Picture Show fan club will emcee the celebration. Sins O’ The Flesh, the Los Angeles Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast, will be part of the fun.
Staged over a one-mile stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard/Historic Route 66, this year’s Halloween Carnaval will feature seven zones of extraordinary entertainment featuring more than 30 performers including artists, DJs, musical performers, dancers, and more. It promises to be an exceptional five-hour one-of-a-kind experience.
Adjacent to San Vicente Stage, Zen Freeman will channel the vibes of the crowd with his music selections on the DJ Stage.
Almont Stage, Throwback Central, will feature Thea Austin, lead singer of SNAP, DJ Tendaji, and Brit J, as well as R&B/hip-hop singer/songwriter Lotus Jackson, and underground indie pop artist Anson Sky.
Hancock Stage, Fan Favorites, will feature Teki Traxx, who will perform a heart-stomping Electro House set, and DJ Aaron Colbert, who will be joined by special guest Tamra (from Kaskade’s album).
La Peer Stage, Lady Boy Lounge, will feature Ray Isaac, Australian singer/songwriter/DJ, and DJ Andy Androgyne, founder of the ’80s duo Martini Ranch.
West Knoll Stage, The Diva’s Den, will feature fierce acid/sour-singer/songwriter Marley Munroe and the old-school hip-hop party jams of DJ Michelle Pesce.
Westbourne Stage, UK Hardstyle Hotspot, will feature DJ Skruffeh, one of the founders of today’s Southern California Hardstyle scene.
