Last week Caruso marked the opening of its first resort destination, Rosewood Miramar Beach, in Montecito, California, with a ceremonial Ribbon Cutting. The celebration of the revitalization of this idyllic coastal community included remarks by CEO and founder Rick Caruso and actor Rob Lowe. Featuring a live musical performance of the historic Miramar song, the program also recognized the Montecito Fire Protection District for their incredible contributions to the community.
In his remarks, actor and Montecito local, Rob Lowe, expressed his gratitude to Caruso for bringing back to life the beloved Montecito destination and creating a place for locals and visitors alike. After the ribbon cutting, guests were able to walk through the sweeping Paul Williams inspired lobby and staircase area to the open lawn with a giant “Welcome Home” sign. After crossing the historic railway train station tracks, the celebration continued at the Caruso Bar with two stories of food, drinks, and entertainment throughout the afternoon.
The elegant property is situated on The American Riviera and features 161 guest rooms and suites including beach bungalows, a spa, two-pools and 7 top-notch dining options from a Malibu Farm outpost to Caruso’s bar and restaurant overlooking the shore. And, it would not be Caruso if there were not exceptional retail options (we are also big fans of their Pacific Palisades Village that opened late last year), from the first goop Sundries Shop and a new James Perse California-inspired concept clothing-home store and event space with a pool table.
This revitalization of the area continues with the neighboring Montecito Inn and Chef Phillip Frankland Lee’s latest dining concept, The Silver Bough, which is a high-end tasting menu at $550 per person with only 8 seats. The restaurant is adjacent to Lee’s other acclaimed all-day dining venue The Monarch.
The Waterfront Beach Resort by Hilton is another newer option, located right across from the beach which is a perfect getaway for visiting the nearby Funk Zone with restaurants and wine tasting rooms.
