On June 4th, a SRO crowd attended the annual weSpark Comedy at the The Comedy Store wih emcee Andy Richter and featuring popular comics Hal Sparks, Moon Unit Zappa, Wendy Liebman and Larry Miller . weSpark Executive Director Nancy Allen welcomed the audience. Mark Walberg, host of “Antiques Roadshow”, rallied a lively “fund-a-need” auction with over $34,000 to add to ticket sales and sponsorship for a grand total of $85,000 going to the charity. Marlene McGuirt, Director of Development, oversaw the successful evening.
The star-studded red carpet event included co-chairs, Ed Begley Jr. and Rachelle Carson Begley, Jack McGee, Amy Landecker, Justine Bateman, Cindy Caponera, Bob Gale, Maurice LaMarche and Joe Kennan. Generous event sponsors were Charlene Sperber, CBS, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Valley Crest Landscapers and Wells Fargo Bank. Backstage sponsors were Bolkin-Heline Family, Duetsche Bank, Gerry Bernardi and Joe Keenan, and Robin Eisenman and Maurice LaMarche. Standing Ovation Sponsors included Cancer Treatment Centers of America along with Jennifer and Chad Fitzgerald, Stephanie and Jack McGee and Tina and Bob Gale.
