This weekend marks the launch of a free trolley service in West Hollywood that will also have historical significance.
The City of West Hollywood will host a launch celebration for the Sunset Trip on Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1OAK, located at 9039 W. Sunset Boulevard. Attendance is free and open to the public. The Sunset Trip will be a convenient hop-on/hop-off trolley for getting around Sunset Strip venues and connecting to hot spots on Melrose Avenue, Santa Monica Boulevard, and other West Hollywood locations. The Sunset Trip’s bold black trolleys, marked by a giant circular ‘T’ and accented with an acoustic-wave color-splash, will operate on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. The new trolley service follows the success of The PickUp, with its bright yellow trolleys, which travels along Santa Monica Boulevard between Robertson Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. and on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Riders of the Sunset Trip and The PickUp will be able to connect trolley services at two stops during concurrent operating hours at Santa Monica Boulevard/San Vicente Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard/Fairfax Avenue. The rides will also feature historians that will also point out landmarks along the way. This is fun way to leave your car behind for a night out in West Hollywood!
