Summer Beauty Updates in West Hollywood

By Carole Dixon

MiniLuxe Opens on Sunset

We love the bright and futuristic design at West Hollywood’s new branch of MiniLuxe which has opened on Sunset Boulevard just off of Sunset Plaza Drive. You won’t mind the clinical appeal when you discover that Dr. Oz is on the founding board of this sleek mini-nail chain, and all the instruments used are cleaned akin to a surgical or dental office. While they do some of the best natural, vegan nails that really do last without chipping, they also support a human side to this business where nail technicians are given benefits, paid time off and even a 401K - unheard of in the beauty industry. Check out the “Performance Polish” that wears like a gel but can be removed like a normal product. Genius. http://www.miniluxe.com/

Blink Bar on Melrose

We celebrate another mini-chain which is like the Dry Bar but for lash extensions (one of our favorite beauty addictions.) At this Melrose location of Blink Bar, which used the same interiors designers as Soul Cycle, you can relax in a quiet and comfortable mini-pod. The owner not only had a background in the film world, but as an aircraft interior designer, which came in handy for the feminine but cutting-edge modern beauty shop vibe. And, you don’t have to worry about harsh chemicals when getting that d-curl active or mink lash extension since they only use an exclusive organic glue that is surgical grade. Once you enter the pod, you will be able to lie down on a bed which is easier for application and drying time, but let’s be honest, also great for sneaking in an hour nap on your lunch break. This service is perfect for everyone from busy Mon’s to CEO’s as the product lasts at least 3-4 weeks without at touch up and becomes the ultimate time saver with your daily make-up routine. http://theblinkbar.com/

New Product at Marco Pelusi Salon

Our favorite West Hollywood colorist, Marco Pelusi, has a new product our just in time for the summer. Marco Color Bodifying Shampoo is a luscious, volumizing product that is specifically formulated with natural collagen proteins and botanicals to boost hair body, thickness and luxury, as well as prevent premature color fade. You will love the coconut-based natural ingredients which smell like a summer day at the beach with aloe vera extract, known for its remarkable healing and soothing properties that condition and moisturizes hair. To revive your locks after a fun day in the sun, this shampoo also uses chamomile, comfrey and black walnut herbal extracts which help to texturize, heal and restore hair health. So, this is a must have addition to your hair care routine this season. https://marcopelusi.com/product/marco-color-bodifying-shampoo-with-collagen-color-guard-8oz/
