Since 1946 Alisal Guest Ranch in the Solvang area just north of Santa Barbara has been a getaway for couples who want to ride the range in a rustic chic western-style setting and enjoy good hearty food along the way. During February 20-21st, the ranch will host its 3rd annual BBQ Bootcamp with Grillmaster and owner of the Hitching Post II Frank Ostini.
This ultimate Western‐style cooking school featuring hands‐on grilling, Dutch oven cooking, horseback riding and more. Alisal has been specializing in barbecue for over 60 years and during this two‐night, three‐day program, guests will hone their grilling skills, gain grilling confidence, and learn the ins‐and‐outs of Santa Maria‐style BBQ from Alisal Executive Chef Pascal Godé and Chef Ostini. You’ll also be able go horseback riding, hiking, biking or play tennis on the grounds to burn off a few calories.
Fun pursuits over the weekend include a seminar on grilling, from Ancho chiles to tri‐tip, with Chefs Godé and Ostini; a welcome reception with local beer master; a dinner featuring Hitching Post II Wines; a wine and meat paring seminar; spice blending workshop and a private breakfast ride to the Old Adobe.
The two‐night stay in Deluxe Cottage with a wood‐ burning fireplaces package for two is starting $1575 but this includes a majority of the activities over the three day period. For more information visit: www.alisal.com
