Great news for fans of Perfecto Rocher’s authentic Spanish cooking at smoke.oil.salt. in West Hollywood. Starting on Monday, February 16, they will open 7 days a week.
We already love the Sunday night paella for two (the seafood is our favorite), and now every Monday night, the restaurant will be serving Chef Perfecto Rocher’s traditional Valencian Putxero. This is a riff on a Spanish stew eaten by the Catalan people since the 14th century. The stew is made with rice, lamb, beef, pork, pilotes (Valencian meatballs wrapped in cabbage leaves), chickpeas, potatoes and other vegetables that Chef Rocher’s grew up eating with his family back home.
Putxero platters are served in a retro-TV dinner style silver tray with each dish in a different compartment. The platters cost $35 each, and it’s plenty of food for one, but there is also dessert and wine selections available a-la-carte. They naturally have a good selection of sparkling Cava from Spain along with albarino or tempranillo varietals to accompany the distinct dishes. Service will run from 5:30pm to 10pm every Monday night. This is great news for Melrose diners –especially if you can’t make it to Barcelona this summer.
