Palms Springs Culinary Escape to Colony Palms

By West Hollywood Lifestyle

If you’re looking to escape to the desert for a night, The Purple Palm Restaurant at the Colony Palms Hotel is excited to announce the arrival of guest chef, David Nayfeld, for the upcoming Chef’s Table Series on February 18th. Chef Nayfeld will be curating a four course menu artfully paired with Absolut’s newest spirit, Absolut Elyx. Chef Nayfeld’s visit will follow in the continued success of tasting dinners that the property launched in October, in tandem with the complete renovation of the restaurant, featuring monthly pairings with Casamigos Tequila and The Glenlivet Whisky, among others.

Chef Nayfeld’s depth of experience will bring a new dimension to February’s Chef’s Table Series. After working for more than a decade in the lauded Michelin-starred restaurants across the world, Chef David Nayfeld has returned to his home state of California. Nayfeld’s career has allowed him the once in lifetime chance to tour Europe working along the with such distinguished chefs as Mauro Colagreco, Albert and Ferran Adria, Philip Rochat, David Toutain, Clare Smyth, Gregory Merchand, and Jacques Genin. Returning to the States, Nayfeld helped open world-renowned chef, Joel Robuchon’s, Mansion, in the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. During his time at Mansion, the restaurant received three Michelin stars, a Mobile Five Star Rating, and the AAA Five Diamond award. Shortly thereafter, Chef was appointed senior sous chef at the famed Eleven Madison Park, serving as a critical part of the team that contributed to the restaurants success in receiving three Michelin stars, six James Beard awards, and four stars from the New York Times. Eleven Madison Park is currently rated No.4 on the San Pellegrino Top 50 Best restaurants in the world list.

The February event will feature Absolut Elyx, the most recent addition to the Absolut line of spirits, manually distilled in a 1921 copper rectification still known as Column 51, made entirely of copper. It is operated by a selected few who inherited their knowledge and expertise from past generations of spirit and vodka makers. The silky textured vodka is a result of the single estate wheat, the manual operation and the old copper catalyzation process. The copper naturally catalyzes trace compounds in the spirit, purifying the vodka and adding a highly prized silky texture and taste.

The event will take place on Wednesday, February 18th from 7:00-8:30pm at a price of $60 per person. Seating is limited, so please call to reserve at (760) 969-1818. The series will continue on a monthly basis, please visit http://www.colonypalmshotel.com for more information on the series as well as The Purple Palm Restaurant.
