As Hollywood prepares for its most fun awards show the Golden Globes, Moët & Chandon—celebrating 25 years as the official champagne of the Golden Globes—unveils the official cocktail of the Golden Globes, the Moët Ruby Red by lauded mixologist Karen Grill. No celebration is ever complete without champagne, and toasting with the cocktail which will be served to the stars is the perfect way for viewers to create glamour at home with Moët and join in on Hollywood’s biggest night!
Grill’s modern take on a French 75 cocktail is a personal homage to one of the most timeless pieces of cinema, The Wizard of Oz. The theatrical masterpiece epitomized Hollywood’s exceptional creativity and captured the whimsy of filmmaking. The champagne and vodka-based concoction’s raspberry, citrus and tarragon shrub give both a tart kick and the ruby red coloring – a nod to the famous ruby slippers. Garnished with tarragon, for the color of the Emerald City and a long lemon twist for the Yellow Brick Road, this cocktail is luxurious and bright, like the stars who will walk the Golden Globes red carpet.
Karen Grill is the woman behind the recently revamped cocktail program at 1933 Group’s Sassafras in Hollywood. Following Sassafras, Grill is currently working on a number of new innovative cocktail programs and consulting for key properties throughout Los Angeles.
Viewers at home can toast with the Moët Ruby Red, or keep it classic with a bottle of Moët’s beloved “family of champagnes,” including Moët & Chandon Impérial, Moët & Chandon 2004 Grand Vintage Brut and Moët & Chandon Impérial Rose, to pair with fun and festive viewing party food!
Moët & Chandon will grace the star-studded red carpet and tables at the Golden Globes with its family of champagnes, serving 1,500 Moët Impérial minis on the red carpet; 125 cases of Moët & Chandon 2004 Grand Vintage Brut and Moët Impérial Rosé Magnums on the tables during the awards ceremony; and 500 Moët cocktails served at the bars. Moët & Chandon will also return to the red carpet with its popular philanthropic initiative, “Toast for a Cause.” Golden Globe nominees will be invited to raise a toast with Moët & Chandon Impérial minis in support of their favorite charities on the red carpet. For each toast raised, Moët & Chandon donates $1,000 to the chosen charity in the nominees’ names.
