Find Rare Decor Steals “En Plein Air” in World Renowned LCDQ
Los Angeles’ prestigious La Cienega Design Quarter (LCDQ) will open its doors to the public during its first open-air market/sidewalk sale on Friday, Oct. 6, and Saturday, Oct. 7.
Nearly 30 design shops and showrooms – that sell to the world’s most renowned designers from as far away as England, France, Italy, Russia and Australia; to celebrities such as Ryan Seacrest, Jennifer Aniston, John Legend, Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres; and to design aficionados – will offer heavily discounted antiques, lighting, furniture, fabrics, rugs, accessories and garden ornaments.
During the open air market, showroom models, designer fabrics, antiques, rugs and discontinued furnishings will be sold for a song on sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and courtyards throughout the LCDQ, which spans one square mile on La Cienega from Santa Monica Boulevard to Rosewood Avenue, Melrose Place, and Melrose Avenue from San Vicente Boulevard to Orlando Avenue. Some showrooms, such as Dragonette Ltd, will even continue the sale inside.
LCDQ has been the shopping heart of the interior design profession since the 1950s and continues to be the leading destination for design on the West Coast. Famously known for hosting LEGENDS, a yearly registration-required design event that attracts thousands of industry professionals and personalities from all over the globe, the Quarter’s upcoming sidewalk sale will be its largest, free-to-the-public event to date.
Those interested in antiques and high-end design will find a treasure trove, including vintage lighting, pillows, retro chairs and cabinets, vintage and contemporary rugs, centuries-old decorative carvings, midcentury pieces, contemporary furniture, and hundreds of yards of fabric left over from design jobs.
