360 Karma Helps Women Discover Their Life’s Purpose and Provides Game Changing Tools to Create Their Own Triumphant Legacy.
Catherine Gray, a pioneering filmmaker, sought-after speaker and author who has produced and directed a number of groundbreaking documentaries, most notably the seminal I Can’t Marry You, which explored the topic of gay marriage and was narrated by Betty DeGeneres, has launched a new project called 360Karma, with a companion, multi-media platform comprised of a web series, book and live conference entitled “Live Love Thrive”!
Gray said, “The focus of 360 Karma is for women to help each other reach their highest potential, so as to create powerful positions of influence. The result will be cultivating more female CEO’s, more women politicians, more women business owners, and so on, to impact our daily life. Women have to come together to shift the paradigm, in order to influence the balance of power and contribute to equality. Women bring a valuable perspective that is sorely needed in many arenas; a grassroots level entity like 360 Karma can elevate and spread that perspective.”
Currently, a range of women and their incredible true stories are featured on the site, with visitors invited to nominate others to be included. Women selected will be featured in the book, and some featured as speakers at the “Live Love Thrive” conference, to be held in Los Angeles, Saturday, November 12, 2016.
The women featured thus far represent a wide spectrum of backgrounds, experiences and expertise and include: Ann Boroch, a health and wellness expert and best-selling author, who healed herself from multiple sclerosis; Deborah Alessi, Founder and CEO of Face Forward, an organization that provides pro bono facial reconstruction for victims of domestic violence; Christina Baldwin, a former Navy Seal who trains Olympians and invented a revolutionary new punching bag (the first new design in over 100 years!); Beverlye Hyman Fead, a 14-year cancer survivor of stage IV cancer, and a speaker and author of “Aging in High Heels”, among other books; Annette Shapiro, one of the most successful philanthropists and fundraisers in Los Angeles, and subject of the book “The Professional Volunteer”; Bonnie Bruckheimer, long-time producing partner of Bette Midler, whose many film credits include Beaches and The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood; NiK Kacy, a gender-fluid footwear line designer; Heidi Shink, a human rights/community activist and author; and Karen Reed, a trailblazing entrepreneur who is starting a new National Singles Day holiday in the U.S. and founder of IPK, LLC, a user design experience and strategy group.
What they all share is experience in overcoming adversity to establish their life paths and their success in pursuing those dreams. Additionally, all are committed to “paying it forward” and helping and inspiring other women to realize their own desires – thus giving rise to the 360Karma moniker.
360 Karma founder, Catherine Gray, is also kicking off a fundraising campaign to raise the capital to support the venture via crowdfunding website, Generosity, the non-profit arm of Indiegogo. A special, disco-themed fundraising party at the legendary music venue, The Mint in Los Angeles, featuring world-renowned Disco recording artist Pamala Stanley and other special guests will be held:
Saturday February 6th, from 2 pm to 5 pm
6010 West Pico Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90035
Donations will be tax deductible through our fiscal sponsor “From The Heart Productions”. This is both for women who want to empower women, and for men who support the women in their lives: their mothers, sisters, friends, etc. It’s helping to put women on the road to equality.
