As part of LA Food & Wine’s four day extravaganza around town of culinary happenings (August 24-27), these are two legendary lunches that you won’t want to miss.
At Michael’s Santa Monica, chef Miles Thompson is teaming up with Michael’s alums Jonathan Waxman, Nancy Silverton, Sang Yoon and Brooke Williamson for a reunion luncheon that celebrates the restaurant’s 38-year history. The $150 ticket price will entail canapés plus a four-course seated luncheon with wine pairings. Offerings to include canapés such as swordfin squid with fresno chili, smoked avocado and kaffir lime; and burrata with pluots, pistachio dukkah and thyme (courtesy of Thompson); roast chicken (courtesy of Waxman); and lamb neck & loin with blistered shishitos, romesco, almond breadcrumb, mint and purslane (courtesy of Williamson).

At Craft LA, chef Sarah Grueneberg from Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio restaurants in Chicago (+ a 2017 JBF Award Winner “Best Chef Great Lakes” and runner-up on Top Chef Texas) is collaborating with Craft chef de cuisine Denis Crutchfield + pastry chef Shannon Swindle. The $125 ticket price will entail canapés plus a four-course seated luncheon with wine pairings.
