Second Annual National Singles Day! What a West Hollywood Success!

The second annual National Singles Day on Jan 11th was quite the success. The event was held at The Horn in West Hollywood. Festive singles came out for cocktails, speakers, awards and giveaways from local business!

Founder, Karen Reed had guest speakers: Gordon Morris, Unmarried Equality, Heidi Shink, West Hollywood Human Services & Planning Commissioner and West Hollywood Lifestyle Magazine’s cover boy Madison Hildebrand on stage to speak to the room on various Single’s topics.

Single Star Awards was a new addition this year to the event. These awards were given to an individual or organization in the media whose work portrays singles or single issues in a realistic and positive light. Recipients of this award were Vicki Wagner –Comedian, Public Speaker, Event Host and host of her own show, “Brash Babble with Vicki Wagner. Vicki received the Single Star award for her contribution for the first National Singles day by giving her time and hosting the three-hour event.

Second Award went to Matt Ward- Co –Executive Producer & Writer, Madam Secretary, CBS. Matt Ward wrote the episode “Collateral Damage” with a storyline that speaks to subtle yet very real way in which many single professionals are treated differently from their coupled co-workers.

Third award went to Mia Dinelly, publisher of West Hollywood Lifestyle Magazine, for two years of continuous support and involvement with Singles Day both working on Promotions and Event Publicity and as an active Sponsor.
