Jill Joy Gallery is pleased to announce it is hosting a fundraising event for the David Lynch Foundation (DLF). Founded by film maker and contemporary artist, David Lynch, DLF teaches Transcendental Meditation to populations suffering from trauma and PSTD, including veterans, at-risk students, women & girls who have suffered abuse, prison inmates and the homeless.
The event will raise funds for DLF’s Los Angeles Programs and will include refreshments, appetizers, desserts, a silent auction and a raffle of original oil paintings donated by Jill Joy from her Consciousness Series (on view at the gallery through March 25, 2017). 100% of proceeds from the raffle and silent auction will be donated to DLF’s Los Angeles Programs. In addition, 20% of painting sales made during the evening will be donated to DLF. There is a $20 suggested donation at the door which gives attendees a chance to win the raffled artwork. Ms. Joy states, “I am so pleased to be able to host this event in my gallery and provide artwork to support the Los Angeles programs of the David Lynch Foundation. The inspiration for my oil paintings and the mission of my gallery is the evolution of consciousness. This dovetails perfectly with mandate of DLF. I believe that inner peace promotes outer peace and I could not be more thrilled by the important work DLF is doing for those in our Los Angeles communities suffering from violence, trauma and PTSD.”
“Executed in a kind of meditative semi-trance, Jill Joy’s paintings are like artifacts, residues of the energy that produced them, both art historically/materially and spiritually galvanized process paintings of the highest order; and further, physical conduits of that same luminous energy, radiating into the world.” Huffington Post, January 2017
