With the 75th annual Golden Globes kicking off the 2018 awards season, all eyes were on the black gowns that graced the red carpet in solidarity of the recent #MeToo movement.
With over a dozen more fetes still to come over the next few months, you’ll need to hit the gym and have your beauty routine down pat. We are here to help. One accessory that always adds to the glam factor and makes your life so much easier: eyelash extensions. Yes, they are still one of the most sought-after Hollywood beauty must-haves after hair extensions.
We’ve discovered a new guru located in the same building block as the high-end Huxley apartment building on LaBrea. Inside the Phenix Salon, Iris+West Lash Co. believes in the “easy on the eyes” philosophy.
For eight years, Amanda Robinson has been perfecting lashes from Seattle to Los Angeles as a former hair stylist and make-up artist and has recently opened an outpost of her beauty company in San Francisco where she currently spits her time. In the past three to four years she has seen the eyelash industry grow to be just as common as having your hair or nails done.
Robinson gently applies everything from synthetic to silk and mink lash extensions, one-by-one, ranging in price from $125-$380 and recommends fills every 2-3 weeks starting at $70. And, she won’t do just what’s fashionable but what works for your type of lashes. “People will bring in a picture of Kim Kardashian and say they want that look but you should have realistic expectations,” she says about the process. “I would rather rehab your lashes and make them healthy, than give you something that might not be right for your type of lashes.”
