Acclaimed Pop Artist Sham Ibrahim has just completed a series of portraits dedicated to stunning moments in recent high fashion history. His latest series, which debuted at the Los Angeles Fashion week event Art Hearts Fashion include a portrait of Anna Wintour and Donatella Versace seated front row at a fashion show, supermodel Kate Moss puffing a cigarette while walking down the runway for Louis Vuitton, Naomi Campbell modeling Victoria’s Secret, Coca Rocha on the runway for John Galiano, a portrait from a 2009 Alexander McQueen runway show featuring a model wearing an umbrella as a headpiece, a stoic portrait of fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, Kristen McMenamy on the runway for Louis Vutton, Dita Von Tease modeling Jean Paul Gaultier, and a portrait of the world’s first supermodel Gia Carangi who died of AIDS in 1986.
Sham Ibrahim is a Pop Art Artist and television personality who is best known for his digital portraits of celebrities and timeless moments in American pop culture. In 2009, Sham made international headlines after he did a portrait of a police photo depicting Rihannas battered face. NBC news, E! His artwork of Rihanna was also recently published by Dr. Kelli Moore in a text book entitled Feminist Surveillance Studies, as part of a post-graduate studies course at University of California Berkeley in 2014. **
He has given his pop art portraits to many celebrities including Joan Collins, Paris Hilton, Lynda Carter, Tori Spelling, Lindsay Lohan, Bobby Brown, Carmen Electra, Boy George, Betsey Johnson, Debbie Harry, and Ru Paul.
In 2015, he appeared on the BRAVO television show Vanderpump Rules, where he gave the stars of the show Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd portraits of themselves and their dog Giggy.
Most recently, Sham appeared on FUSE television’s show Big Freeida, where he displayed his artwork as part of a gallery show entitled “The Art of Twerk” at World Of Wonder Storefront gallery. He also taped a segment for the upcoming season of K Michelle: My Life on Vh1, airing this winter.
